Nathan Zuj Wins 5th Clubman Cup

Launceston's Nathan Zuj claimed his fifth Clubman Cup on Sunday after a spirited battle with Hobart's Bradley Hobden. Hobden had early in the day claimed qualifying honours, however that was the only time he had the better of Zuj, with the Launceston Kart Club member scoring a clean sweep of wins in the heats and final of Clubman Light. Third in the final went to Callum Mitchell, also from Launceston.
North Western Kart Club's Alan Fitzpatrick took home his first Clubman Cup after a great battle with fellow coastal driver Brody Appleby and Launceston's Alastair Lee who had a strong final after starting out of grid eight and rounded out the podium of Clubman Heavy.

Clubman Super Heavy was won by Hobart's Samm Harrington after a ding dong battle with Launceston's and defending champion Scott Wrigley. Third on the dais was Jeremy Green. Over 40 Clubman pro went the way of a Launceston's Freddy Cocca from Helen Gibson and third Mark Mitchell. Junior Clubman was a battle of three all day with Hobart's Zevie Eisentraut looking good early but was piped in the final by fellow southerner Lachlan Newman with Andrew Lee third.
The Clubman Pro race held at the conclusion of racing for all clubman drivers at the pro weight of 150kg was won by local driver Jamie Bricknell. Bricknell, who started on pole, dropped back early but worked his way to the lead by mid race and then held out Hobart's Jonathan McDonald and the fast finishing Aiden Shelton for the win.
