Speedway Karters to Honour One Of the Founders

from Victor Maastricht 8 July 2014

In every form of motorsport there are the special events and races that all drivers crave to be part of and win each year.

In Speedway Karting in NSW there are a number of those events, one of them is “The Alan Hann Memorial”.

Alan Hann was the founding President of the Central Coast Speedway Kart Club and is credited with forging speedway into the Karting landscape in NSW.

In 1996 Alan became the first president of this wonderful club and, along with a couple of mates, had a vision to build a family friendly club where all members regardless of age or sex could come and have fun racing an affordable form of speedway.

This vision was achieved and 18 years later not only is the club as strong as ever they continue to grow and this weekend will acknowledge and thank Alan by honouring him at this meeting .

In the 6 week break since the last meeting, major track work has been completed on the famous Gosford Showground venue, and karters are eager as ever and are looking forward to the event to try out the improvements.

All the regular classes will be competing on the day and drivers will be trying in earnest to get there name on the coveted Alan Hann Memorial Trophy.

The highest Junior and Senior points scorer on the day get the opportunity to have their name placed in club history forever.

Last years winners - Jake Baines (Senior) and Conner Moreau & Luke Geering (equal Juniors) - will be on hand to defend their position on the trophy.

Members of the Hann family will also be present, and will award the trophy to this years winners.

This Sunday's meeting is open to all licensed  AKA drivers and we encourage and welcome all drivers to come and give it a go. Once you do you’ll be back. All details can be found at www.ccskc.com.au

For speedway fans if you haven’t had the opportunity to see speedway karts before why not come out to the Gosford Showground on Sunday and watch this spectacle as drivers as young as 7 yrs old display their talent.

Racing is due to start at 9.30am and full canteen facilities are available during the day for all food and drink needs.

The Central Coast Speedway Kart Club would like to acknowledge and thank their 2014 club sponsors -
Huckel Excavations, Precision Motorsport, C&A Mobile, MFM Omega Racing Karts, Bleeding Edge Computers, Express Lube, Boxsell Graphix, Davistown RSL
