Sunday Re-Run For Hoosier Classic

press release 20 June 2014

It does sound a little odd to be running round one of the Club Championship in June right? But when the weather intervened at the start of the year like it did, it is remarkable that the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club are still able to re-run the day. This Sunday, drivers will get another shot at claiming the win for the opening round of the championship, the “Hoosier Classic”.

Hoosier Tire Australia has jumped on board to be the major sponsor this Sunday’s event. Hoosier is one of the leading racing tire companies around the world and the Dumesny family continues to throw their support behind the NSWSKC.

With the running of the New South Wales Speedway Karting Title two weeks ago, there are a number of driver that are determined to wear their blue plate with pride and continue on their success. There are also drivers looking to make amends for disappointing races that they came agonizingly close to winning.

Seven classes will race throughout the day, Cadets, Rookies, Juniors, Clubman Light, Clubman Heavy, KT Combined and Sportsman. Three rounds of heats will be contested before a final. Trophies at the end of the day will be based on points, so it’s important that drivers stay consistent and out of trouble in order to secure themselves the round win.

Only one race meeting has been conducted at Nepean this season with the rain playing havoc for the club. There are a lot of excited people ready to get back to the venue this Sunday in order to compete in some of the best Speedway Karting that this country has to offer.

Racing will kick off at 10am sharp on Sunday morning. It’s $5 entry for adults while kids get in free. All canteen facilities will be open. You can find Nepean Raceway on Rickards Road, Castlereagh.
