Karting News Briefs

  8 June 2014

  • Karting Queensland is accepting nominations from its member clubs for drivers to compete in the Race of Stars on the Gold Coast in October. The 2014 Race of Stars will be contested on a different circuit to last year’s inaugural event and will feature five categories - KZ2, KF3, TaG 125, Junior National and Cadets. Each category will have a maximum number of starters on the grid with invitations being issued to various drivers from across Australia and other parts of the world. As the host state, each fully affiliated Queensland club is provided the opportunity for one of its members to represent their club in each of the TaG 125, Junior National and Cadet classes. To secure a place on the grid, clubs must advise KQ of their proposed drivers by Friday, June 20. The event, part of the V8 Superfest in the lead up to the Gold Coast 600, will take place at the Xtreme Karting facility at Pimpama on Saturday October 18.
