  • AIDKA has approved the use of VP C9 racing fuel, effective immediately. "The technical committee have evaluated the fuel over the last few months and found the fuel comparable to the currently approved fuels" AIDKA advised. The fuel rule will now read: "27.9 Approved Fuels: Premium Unleaded Petrol (PULP) produced by major refineries, ELF BFK07, VP C9." It is anticipated that ELF BFK07 will be removed from the 2015 rule book.

  • The Official Program for the JR Memorial Pro Tour round at Geelong this weekend can now be read online. Includes entry list for all classes, timetable, current rankings and 20-questions with Bryce Davidson. Click HERE to have a read.

  • Ding! Ding! Round 3, Deadly vs The Dutchman! After their contretemps at the previous round, series organisers are using the image below as a promo for the next round of the 2014 CIK Stars of Karting championship. Entry is now open for the three 'pro' classes plus the TaG and Rookie Challenge for the third round at Puckapunyal on June 14/15. Entries close May 30; link to the Supp Regs is on the Race Calendar page.


  • Pierce Lehane finished fourth in the second round of the UK Super One Series at Buckmore Park on the weekend. He now sits second in the series standings. "Not a bad weekend!!!" he wrote on Facebook. "5th in Final one after being taken out while in the lead! 4th in Second Final!!! Cheers to DHR for all the teams hard work!! Next stop Italy Euromax!!"

  • The impressive Kerbrider trailer has been clocking an increasing number of miles trekking to various kart tracks. Last weekend it was the Country Series round at Horsham, including this pit stop at The Giant Koala at Dadswells Bridge on the Western Highway.

  • Compilation of some massive karting crashes - a mix of new ones with some 'old faithfuls' already found in other clips. Includes a few from Aussie tracks!


  • karting1.co.uk has posted an article, "Top 5 GREATEST kart classes of all time". Makes an interesting read - the 'Open' class we run here in Australia and NZ is ranked Number 2. Do you agree? Click HERE.

  • Also by karting1.co.uk is the future of race starts, specifically standing starts for sprint racing. The concept was trialled at a recent Super One Rotax round and there was a notable reduction of first corner accidents. Read about that (with video) HERE.

  • Arrow karts won, for the 12th time in succession, the NZ Sprint Championships Manufacturers Cup award. DPE brands Monaco and Deadly placed 5th and 6th.

  • After the first round at La Conca this weekend, the calendar for the Italian Karting Championship has had some changes and now reads:
    • 1st round 23-25.5.2014 - International Circuit La Conca, Muro Leccese
    • 2nd round 27-29.6.2014 - Circuit of Siena, Castelnuovo
    • 3rd round 18-20.7.2014 - International Circuit Napoli, Sarno
    • 4th round 5-7.9.2014 - International Circuit of Abruzzo, Ortona
    • 5th round 3-5.10.2014 - International Circuit Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lignano

  • The Rock Island Grand Prix in the USA celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2014. This year’s theme is “The most fun you will have in kart racing – on and off the track.” Organizers are hoping for a large turnout to join the celebration with a wide-ranging lineup of race classes.
