  • Pierce Lehane claimed second place in the British 'Open' Karting Championships at Rowrah on the weekend. Driving for Dan Holland Racing in the Senior MAX class, the Aussie finished just 0.85s behind winner Oliver Hodgeson (Tony Kart). Pierce (FA) carded 4th, 14th and 9th in the heats followed by 4th in the pre-final (from 9th). "Solid day!" he wrote on Facebook. "Thanks to the whole team from DHR for pushing hard for a good result! Bring on Super1 next weekend!"

  • Ringwood Kart Centre in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne are now stocking Burris kart tyres "for those who do it sideways".

  • Former five-time world karting champion Davide Forѐ has signed to join CRG-USA for his first SKUSA SpringNationals and debut in the S1 division. He will join defending S1 Pro Stock Moto champion, Joey Wimsett. Former S2 Semi-Pro champion Sabré Cook, ‘Flyin Hawaiian’ Alex Gumpfer and former SuperNationals winner Ron White complete the powerful CRG-USA S1 lineup.

  • A number of Indycar drivers sampled the Honda CRF250 EFI DOHC 4-stroke engine at Honda's facility in Santa Clarita, California, recently. The company set up a small track in the back carpark and fitted the engine to a fleet of CRG shifter chassis. The motor has just been approved for use in a Mod/ICC/CRF250 class. IndyCar drivers present at the 'test' included Marco Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Carlos Munoz, Takuma Sato, Justin Wilson, Oriol Servia, Jack Hawksworth, Simon Pagenaud and Josef Newgarden.
