  • The Master Karting spare parts van and trailer will be making the trip north to Newcastle next week for the 2014 Australian Sprint Kart Championships. “We will be setting up Wednesday in time for official practice starting Thursday” Master Karting’s David Foster informed KartSportNews. David and Dean would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Easter and the best of luck to everyone competing at the Championships over Easter.

  • New-look website for Deadly Dave Sera - davidsera.com.au. Includes pages on his career, driver training and the Deadly kart range.

  • 194 beats-per-minute. That's what Jordie Ford's heart tapped out at during a KZ2 practice session at the recent CIK Stars of Karting round in Ipswich. Ford, who is a Personal Trainer, used a Polar FT80 watch with a wireless heart rate strap. "Amazing to think, even including the resting heart rate before getting onto the track, that I still have an average of 87% of my maximum Heart Rate for a whole 20 minutes" he commented on Facebook.   • A couple of karts modified specially for use by war heroes, have been stolen from Kart Force in the UK - a charity which gives disabled former soldiers a chance to race. The £4,000 twin-engined machines had been fitted with controls so they could be operated by amputee veterans. More on the newsshopper website HERE.

  • There will be live audio coverage from 'Finals Day' at the Newcastle Nationals on Easter Sunday. All Sports Radio will provide the internet broadcast which will commence at 8:15am on Sunday April 20. The coverage will be a full outside broadcast presentation featuring live descriptions of racing and live interviews with prominent personalities as well as regular recaps of results. To listen to the live audio stream broadcast, simply log on to www.allsportsradio.com.au.
    • If logging on through PC, laptop or android devices, the audio will commence within a few seconds in the embedded audio player
    • If logging on through Mac, iPad or iPhone devices, scroll down to the iPhone icon on the right hand side of the All Sports Radio homepage and click on the icon. This will load the required audio application and the audio will commence within a few seconds.

  • Townsville Kart Club advise the Triple Crown portion of the racing this weekend has been postponed until May due to uncertainty with the weather. "Mackay and Prossy are still hoping to race at this stage, again depending on the weather, but it won't count towards the series."

  • James Sera is this week's Waverley Leader Senior Sports Start Nominee. Sera's resutls from the Victorian Championships, where he won two classes, earned him the nomination (however, the website is a little confused as to when the meeting took place...).
