Project X Racing is set to expand its junior ranks mid-season with its newest member, Callum Walker, joining the X men.

The Brisbane student has had a great start to the 2014 season under the “FK” banner but is looking for the last part of the puzzle in the hunt for the Title. By joining the Project X Racing team, Callum will swap to the OTK manufactured Exprit chassis in his J-Max programme and will benefit from Project X Racing’s association with Monaco Karts and run Junior Clubman for the first time at this years Karting Australia’s Nationals in the Monaco M3.

Callum, who currently sits second in the Rotax points tally, has this to say about the move:

"Changing teams is a big move, considering how I have been going. My focus for the remainder of the year is to obtain my ticket to the world finals and this will allow me to achieve this."

Making the move across with Callum will be his regular mechanic, Paul Gallo. Paul has had great success with the OTK in the past.

Project X Racing’s team owner, William Yarwood, had this to say:

“I am really excited to have a junior like Callum join me here at Project X Racing. He has shown raw speed over the last season. It’s with my experience in winning my 10 national titles that I hope to allow Callum to mature and gain the results I have had in the past.

"We currently have some great talent in my team at Project X Racing and with Callum's arrival we will be a very strong package. I am really excited about our journey ahead and I know the rest of the team welcomes him.”

Callum did a brief shake down in the new Exprit kart at Ipswich and Warwick over the weekend and is now setting off to Lithgow for Round 4 of the Rotax Pro Tour.

Also Competing in Lithgow will be Tristan Ellery in DD2 and fresh from his strong performance at CIK is Dalton Ellery. Fellow Chelgrave Contracting supported driver, with a 2nd place in Round 3, is Steve Ellery who is aiming for one better in the Masters Class.

Project X racing then will back it up the following weekend when they head to the annual Karting Australia’s Nationals in Newcastle.

The Project X Racing team will arrive this Thursday for set up and track walks but the Shop will be still open for business.
