Tyres Decided For Lonato Winter Cup

The International karting season is set to start in one month time, with the honours of the first “green lights” going to the Winter Cup, the race that will run its 19th edition in the days 21-22-23 February 2014 at the Circuit South Garda Karting of Lonato (Brescia, Italy).

Tyres have been decided for this important appointment of Lonato. Bridgestone will in fact equip  KF and KZ2 (slick YMM Prime, rain YLP) karts, while the KF Junior will wear Vega (slick XHOption, rain V5) tyres.

Meanwhile, the entry list of the race present in the International CIK-FIA calendar is getting longer. The maximum number ofparticipants is set to 90 drivers for categories KZ2 and KF, and to 108 for KF Junior.

This race will mark the KZ2  debut of the young “home hero” Luca Corberi, as the 2012 KF3 World Champion will make it to the start on Kosmic-Vortex. Corberi will be called to a tough challenge as the KZ2 already features several champions of the category like Marco Ardigò and Flavio Camponeschi on track with Tony Kart, Jordon Lennox-Lamb, Fabian Federer and Alex Palou with CRG, Mirko Torsellini with Art GP, Davide Forè with CRG-DTK and Arnaud Kozlinski at the debut with Intrepid, and many more top drivers.

KF and KF Junior will also be quite interesting with several top drivers among which the complete teams of Ward Racing, Energy Corse, DR, Art GP, Italsport. Birel Motorsport will field Stefano Cucco, Ricky Flynn the KF Junior European Champion Lando Norris, CRG  Felice Tiene and Pedro Hiltbrand. The highest category will also see the debut of the new KF Junior World Champion Alessio Lorandi.

The chronometer service with transponder will be available from Wednesday 19 February, in occasion of the first free practice that will continue on Thursday. Qualifying will take place on Friday 21st and will be followed by the heats that will continue throughout Saturday 22nd February, while the final stages will go live on Sunday 23 with the Repechage races, Prefinals and Finals starting from 15.00 (GMT+2).
