Karting in New Zealand has been saddened by the sudden passing at his home of Kartsport Wellington Vice President and Works Manager, Phil Davy.
"The club executive has offered any support we can to Vicki, Patrick, Kate and Ruth at this time" the club announced on its website.
"Phil and his family have been long time members of the club and collectively have put in a huge amount of time and effort over the years.
"We will let you all know details of the funeral once these are available."
Phil was scheduled to attend the Australian Vintage Kart Prix in Queensland in March.
"We were so looking forward to seeing Phil and his Zip and DAP karts at the GP" organisers said. "To our New Zealand friends, let's celebrate Phil's passion for vintage karts in March."
