Whyalla Club For Regional Advancement

  3 October 2013

Whyalla Kart Club recieved recognition yesterday for the hard work done by its members to rebuild the club and raise the profile of Karting in the region.

"For those of you who are not aware, four to five years ago the Whyalla Kart Club was on the fringe of closing its gates" the club's Media Officer, Jeremy Head, informed KartSportNews.

"But due to hard work by the committee of the time, and the subsequent committees, the club is now thriving and continuing to grow substantially, with new drivers and members every week.  This is huge considering the nearest metro area is Adelaide at 400km away."

The hard work was recognised by the club being nominated for the Advancing SA Regional Awards in the Thoroughbred division for sporting groups.

"Although the club didnt get the final gong, it did recieve a Certificate of Merit - a huge achievement for a small club that was almost ready to shut the gates."

"Congratulations to all who have been involved in the club and thank you to everyone who continues to support our ever growing crew" Head added.
