  • Organisers for the Florida Winter Tour have released revised details of the 2014 edition, which will be the 16th annual running of this now famous series. It will largely see the continuation of familiar classes and formats, but with the addition of a Junior Shifter and Briggs LO206 class. Included will be a range of Rotax categories, most of which are qualifying classes for the Rotax World Finals. The 2013 FWT featured over 340 drivers from 26 countries and for the sixth consecutive year was the world’s largest official Rotax Max Challenge. A PDF about the 2014 program is HERE.

  • The Australian Masters Games pre-entry list for Geelong on Bathurst weekend, Oct 11-12, can be found HERE.

  • The Kartsport New Zealand national calendar for 2014 was released last month. Key events are the CIK Trophy of New Zealand (Jan 25-26) and the NZ Nationals at Easter. A PDF can be downloaded from the ksnz website HERE.

  • The South West Kart Club's race meeting at Cobden this weekend will honour the club's inaugural president with an annual feature class race. The Shane McPhee Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the winner of Clubman Heavy. Previous winners include Jeremy Anderson, Scott King and Michael Geist, who will be defending the title he won last year.

  • Gary Carlton showing his kart drifting skills with a 125 Shifter at the Ocala Gran Prix circuit, USA (plus an Oops at the end!):


  • Another cool video - this is a raw edit without commentary of an IAME Cadet Super One British Karting Championship race from PFI. The footage includes images from the circuit level cameras, plus aerial video from a DJI S800 Multi-Rotor 'heli-cam'. Good stuff!

  • Various countries are still finalising their lineups for the upcoming Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals. The French contingent was decided at a very wet French Rotax MAX Challenge finale at Le Mans on the weekend. The drivers (some pictured below) are Bastien Leguay (Rotax Junior), Jules Cousin and Xavier Pozzoli (Rotax Senior), Alexandre Finkelstein, Lucas Gravouille and Maxime Joly (DD2), Guillaume Berteaux, Marc Berteaux, Michael Dauphin, Morgan Hipp and Christopher Adams (DD2 Masters).


    Meanwhile, the Dutch team was confirmed as (below, left to right:) DD2 Masters - Wim de Rue, Senior Max - Bryan Eerden, Junior Max - Rinus van Kalmthout, DD2 - Chris Sterken.


    And don't forget the Kiwis! The 'All Blacks' heading to New Orleans are (below, left to right) Matthew Kinsman (Senior MAX), Marcus Armstrong (Junior MAX), Stu Marshall (DD2 Masters) and Daniel Kinsman (DD2).
