Round 6 of the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club Championship was highlighted by some incredible wheel to wheel finals racing. First time winners emerged as drivers from across the Sydney region reveled in the clear blue skies. Revolution Racegear were the major sponsor for the event and they were treated to some spectacular racing.

It was hard to wipe the smile from Brayden Shute’s face as he went on to claim his first feature win and the number one trophy in cadets.  Shute was able to skip away in the early stages and take a win that he win remember for the rest of his life. The fight for second was incredable, Ethan Rietdyk, Payton Coghlan and Connor Moreau went three wide for almost the entire twenty lap feature. They left the crowd stunned, as many couldn’t come to grips at how young drivers could show such incredible sportsmanship and clean racing. The drivers were treated to a standing ovation when they came back into the pits. Shute mentioned after the race, “I really enjoyed it out there, I’d like to thank my Mum, Dad and Sisters.” Rietdyk and Coghlan completed the top three podium. Coghlan also received highest points scorer of the day in Cadets.

Luke Geering proved to be too strong in the Rookies. After taking the lead on lap three, Geering went on to take a commanding win. Geering said, “I kept my head down, kept it smooth and walked away with the win.” Andrew Sayre was home for second but received highest points scorer for the day. Kaidon Brown was fighting him the entire race but couldn’t manage to get by and came home third.

Luke Sayre claimed a stunning Juniors win. At one point the entire field had the chance of claiming the feature win until the field was split and it was a battle of three in the closing laps. Older brother Daniel tried all that he could but had to settle for second. Daniel had an amazing race with Jake Donaldson as the two swapped the second spot multiple times throughout the feature. Donaldson held on for a tremendous third. Brandon Moore drove one of the best races of his career. He lead seventeen of the twenty laps, he kept his head down and stayed focused. Moore took a terrific fourth. After coming from fifth to take the win, Luke Sayre said after the race, “It was hard one line racing out there. I had to work my way through but it was great to come out with the win”. Daniel Sayre got highest points for the class and continues to lead the overall Club Championship.

After a tremendous mid race restart, Jake Baines went on to take a commanding Clubman Light win. Baines was also greeted with the highest points scorer of the day. His father Wayne was unable to run him down and came home second whilst early race leader Jason Woodward completed the top three podium. A relieved Jake mentioned after the race, “I got the restart right which has been a problem recently, so I’m glad we finally fixed the problem.” In Clubman Heavy Les Green elevated himself up the points ladder after clean sweeping the day. Matt Angilley was second followed by Laurie McDougall.

Donald Stevens made it work on the tope side of the race track in the opening stages to take the win in KT Modified. It was a dominate win for Stevens who also took out the highest points award. Stevens mentioned, “I knew I only had two laps on the top before I had to go to the bottom so I had to make it work.” David Boyd made a great charge through the field to finish second and Greg Coghlan had a great consistent day to complete the top three podium.
