Karting News Briefs

  6 September 2013

Just a few for today...

  • A fundraiser for Jessica Golding will be held on Thursday 19 September during the Brisbane Festival at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. Golding is aiming to represent Australia at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the sport of Skeleton (like Luge, but face forward). "There will be raffles, a three course sit-down meal prepared by QPAC's Executive Chef, wines by Sirromet, music and the best seats in the house for the Santos GLNG City of Lights show" Golding, who raced Rotax Light at Pucka on the weekend, informed KartSportNews. "If people are unable to attend but would still like to support me, they can do so by donating at my Go Fund Me page - www.gofundme.com/jessgolding". Further information HERE.

  • AKA (Easter) Nationals at Monarto, SA. This is the first video of a planned 10 by Col Fink (Kartbook.net) from the 2013 AKA Nationals. This is Leopard Heavy, won by Kris Walton.

  • Former F1 racer (but still a Pirelli F1 tyre tester) Jaime Alguersuari will suit up with Tony Kart at the KZ World Championships later this month. The Spaniard will drive RACER EVK / Vortex alongside the other four official drivers, Marco Ardigò, Rick Dreezen, Flavio Camponeschi and Mirko Torsellini. He will conduct some testing at Lonato this weekend to allow both he and the Tony Kart Racing Team staff to find the 'best synergy'. “I am very happy to compete in such a category between the most demanding ones in the competitions’ world and with the support of one of the most important teams in the category" Jaime said. "The World Championship is very high level and I will do my best to be as good as my teammates."
