Stars of Karting Finale Set For TV

  2 September 2013

Series organisers today confirmed that for the third consecutive year, the final round of the CIK Stars of Karting Series presented by Castrol EDGE will be broadcast across Australia on SPEED (Foxtel 512).

Once again the broadcast will be split across four 30-minute programs, three focusing on the action in each of the Pro categories and one on the support categories.

There will also be other special features incorporated into the High Definition production, including some technical and historical aspects of the sport of karting.

Emerging television talent Chad Neylon will host the broadcasts that will be produced by the experienced team of Mark Boxer and Rob Sharp of YBI Creative.

Neylon is one of the brightest young talents in motorsport hosting, while Boxer and Sharp have experience in producing such telecasts for the Australian Superbike Championship, ANDRA Drag Racing Championship and numerous other commercial projects.

“To be able to showcase the sport of karting in a professional television broadcast for the third year in a row is exciting for everyone involved,” said Stars of Karting’s Lee Hanatschek.

“As was seen in last year’s telecasts, Chad is a perfect fit as a host for the sport of karting, his youthful exuberance mixed with his intimate motorsport knowledge provides us with a great anchor for our shows.

“We had a great response to last year’s four programs and we look forward to stepping the production up another notch in 2013. Over the past few months I have been working closely with the team at YBI about some cool concepts that will further enhance the telecasts and highlight the excitement that the CIK Stars of Karting Series can produce.”

The dates for the telecasts will be finalised over the coming weeks and announced in due course with the four shows expected to air in November.

Following each broadcast on SPEED, the programs will be made available online through the Series’ various social network outlets.
