Chris Sandrone Set For Sydney Showdown

press release 22 July 2013

Exprit pilot Christopher Sandrone will have the local track advantage at this weekend’s round of the CIK Stars of Karting series as it returns to Sydney’s Eastern Creek Karting Raceway.

The fifteen year old Pro Junior (KFJ) driver from Cobbitty is currently in a striking fourth position in the championship, and a strong result at Eastern Creek will set the Exprit Australia Team driver up for an exciting final showdown at Melbourne later in September.

“I have been happy with my results so far considering rounds one and two were tracks I hadn’t been to before,” said Chris.

“The Exprit chassis has been fast straight away which has helped. I’m looking forward to being able to focus on fine tuning the kart at this round without having to learn the track in the first few practice sessions.”

With the top 5 drivers in the Pro Junior (KFJ) category separated by only 54 points, Chris isn’t leaving anything to chance and has concentrated on his preparations approaching this weekend.

“You need to be physically and mentally fit. I need to be able to focus not only on what is happening around me, but what the kart is doing and how it reacts to changes. Series points are up for grabs in every race so consistency and speed every time we are on the track is really important.”

The event presented by Castrol EDGE starts with practice this Friday, ahead of racing on Saturday July 27 and Sunday July 28. To follow Chris visit the Stars of Karting website here.
