Qualification Day report from the Kosmic Racing Australia team's Peter Galvin and his two drivers, via Remo Racing:

CIK-FIA Euro Champs; Driver Update: Qualification Day Report:

Well what a day! DIMITRI AGATHOS looked strong in his 8 minute qualifying run and then disaster with an engine seize (cold seize) in the 2nd lap which happens when the engine is not warmed up correctly. This is unfortunate for Dimitri as he looked to be set for a very good run that would enable a good time. However he still came back with a smile on his face! His comment was "I can go faster".

"In my first heat race i got off to a decent start but I was shuffled way back, then drove back again" he said. Another race where its a dog fight every corner no matter the position your in or the lap. "The only way to get better is to race with these guys" said Dimitri.

JOSHUA SMITH had a tough day his qualifying run was not as good as he would like he missed the correct tune on his engine making it very difficult to post a competitive time. To explain... "if you don't have the tune perfect, it can make a huge difference to your lap time" Josh said. He was kicking himself after the session and left to wonder what might have been.
"In my heat race I got caught in someone else's crash and ended with a retirement" said Josh.

Peter Galvin (team manager) said "enough can't be said about the team and mechanics. Every thing they can do to help is being done and all with a smile".

The Kosmic Kart Team, it is truly a fantastic team to be a part of. Another great effort from KOSMIC drivers Nicklas Nielson and Armand Convers to post the TOP 2 times in qualifying, then Armand did the job in his heat to win. Both drivers are not only very very good drivers but they are very very nice young men. Happy to help and offer advice.

Tomorrow (Saturday) we complete the heat races and we find out our position for the all important pre-finals. Watch it live on CIK-FIA website HERE
