The event first ran in 2008, dedicated to the late Bob Hinde who was the caretaker at Grenfell Kart Club and carried out all the behind the scenes jobs for many years. Six years later the event is regarded as one of the best kart meetings in NSW, attracting competitors from all across Australia.

David Shaw and the team at Bar Up Bullbars proudly quoted “Bar Up are excited to be involved in such an appropriate race meeting, in memory of a gentleman that dedicated so much of his time to ensuring the club ran smoothly for so many years.”

Recently crowned “Most Improved Driver by Sydney Speedway” Jackson Delamont was back in a kart and quick to steal the show winning 3 out of 3 classes over the weekend in a dominate display of driving skills.

Australian Champion Jason Newman took a clean sweep in the Senior National Heavy class. The Bathurst based karter won all heats, pre- final and final in the class and looked in total control from when the flag dropped to the chequered flag at the end.

A name to watch out for in the future is little Makk O'Neill. New to the sport, O'Neill dominated the Cadet-P class nearly lapping the whole field. Zach Heard won the Cadet class after a sensational battle with Joshua Sargent throughout the whole race. Older brother Thomas Sargent was victorious in the Rookie class.

Dubbo driver Luke Wrigley made a last lap pass to win the JNL class ahead of Josh Fife. Fife was also caught in a 3 way battle in the Heavy class with Josh Whitty taking the win ahead of Gus Flynn.

Sydney based karter Jett Bennett and Cadet racer Mikayla Boots won the draw for a brand new Arrow Chassis each.

Grenfell kart club would like to thank major sponsors for the 2013 Bob Hinde memorial & "Festival of the kids" race meeting. Bar Up Bullbars are located in Wagga Wagga NSW and are the market leaders in bumper bars and bullbars for the Australian transport industry. Also a big thank you, Grenfell Kart Club, Westlime, KTEQ Rentals and Arrow.
