Lucas Walters Back In Town

press release 4 July 2013

Way back in August 2011, the 12-year old pocket-rocket from France visited Dubbo Kart Club to participate in the Australasian Gold Cup where he claimed a tidy third place in the final and 2nd overall in the points driving a borrowed kart with different (for him) motor and tyres, big pedal extensions, and on a track where he’d never raced before.

Now he’s back in Oz, but this time permanently, living, going to school, and being a member of Dubbo Kart Club.

His first race after a nine month “holiday” from the sport since September 22 last year in Ganges, France (where he came 2nd in J-Max) Lucas bolted a Yamaha 100J to his senior Tony Kart chassis and even with a 50mm drainpipe axle and 6kg overweight, he secured a convincing 3rd place overall at the Three Track Challenge at Dubbo on 16 June behind the current club champion and vice champion.

He now has his sights set firmly on the remaining three races in the Southern Star Series in J-Max and is training hard for the State Titles later this year.
