Zane Is Provisional Trophy Class Champion

press release 24 June 2013

Zane Goddard is the provisional Trophy class Pro Tour Champion!

Rain, cold and night races what a weekend - Ipswich Marked the 6th round of this years Pro Tour series and started last Friday on the coldest wet winters day so far this year.  Practice was in the wet and our pace was strong.

Qualifying turned out to be a disaster spinning out on lap 1 and spending the remainder of the session watching from the sideline. The result being that we had to start last for the first 3 heats.

Heat 1 over 10 laps was held Friday night under lights with rain and we managed to move up to 5th.

Heats 2 and 3 ran Saturday under blue skies and we managed a 2nd and a 6th to move onto grid 4 for the prefinal.

We got a strong start in the 14 lap Prefinal but unfortunately the leader jumped to a very strong lead and we spent the remainder of the race slowly making up ground. The same pattern continued into the final when we unfortunately didn't make the most of track position and fell to 3rd for 2 or 3 laps.  Once clear we spent the remainder of the 20 laps making up ground on the eventual winner to place 2nd outright.

The great recovery at Ipswich gives us 3 wins and 3 seconds for the year with 2 rounds to go. It also secures a points lead that cannot be bettered.

A huge thanks to Chris from R360 for setting the kart up and mentoring, Ben Westway from Impressions Finance for his company's support and G force.
