The Townsville, Proserpine and Mackay Kart clubs have run the inaugural Triple Crown Series. There was one race meeting at each venue, giving both the local drivers and those who travelled some new and varied competition over the 3 race meetings.
This was the first time such an event has been held between the towns and everyone seemed to agree that it was a great concept and all said they would be looking forward to the series being bigger and better for 2014.
There were 51 competitors across 11 classes that signed up to compete in the series. The biggest class and most exciting to watch was the young gun Cadets and there were some fierce battles throughout the field. Qynn Anderson had a dismal start at the first race in Mackay, but came good in Proserpine and in the end was victorious at the final meeting in Townsville. Well done to all these drivers, again one of the best classes to watch.
The Junior National Light class was also hard fought, with Zac Pattel taking a well deserved win overall, followed home by Madison Dunston (2nd) and Luke Grasso (3rd).
The race meetings were all run well with assistance from the officials who gave of their time and the sponsors that made it all worthwhile for the drivers who took part. A big thanks to all these people from the Clubs, without this support the series would not have happened.
Below are the inaugural series winners, congratulations to all the drivers and hope to see you all next year for more fun in the sun up here in Nth Qld.
