press release 15 May 2013

GOULD AND GREEN LEAD LOCAL CHARGE AT SECOND CRC SPEEDSHOW TOP HALF SERIES ROUND

Stuart Gould and Corey Green led the local charge at the second round of this year's  CRC Speedshow Top Half kart series at KartSport Bay of Plenty's Fagan's Valley Raceway near Te Puke on Sunday.

Gould proved the man to beat in the 125cc Rotax Max Heavy class, winning four of the five heats while Green again came out of top in the battle for 100cc Yamaha Light class honours with two wins, two seconds and a third.

Both, however, had to work for their wins, KartSport Bay of Plenty clubmate Alex Griffin running Gould close in 125cc Rotax Max Heavy and both Brad Tremain from Tokoroa and Dion Pitt from Auckland sharing heat wins with Green in 100cc Yamaha Light.

In the other senior classes Aucklander CJ Sinclair won four of the five heats to take 125cc Rotax Max Light from Hamilton pair Mitchell Beach and Rhys Tinney while Cliff Walsh from the Eastern Bay of Plenty claimed a close victory over clubmate Steven Muggeridge and Rotorua driver Lesley Rawlinson in Clubsport 120.

In the Junior classes Auckland's Arran Crighton continued on his winning way in Junior 100cc Yamaha, greeting the chequered flag first in four of the five heats.

Both NZ#3 Reece Hendl-Cox and Hamilton clubmate Daniel Wright had to fight for honours in their classes though, Hendl-Cox sharing heat wins in Junior Restricted 100cc Yamaha with fellow podium finishers Matthew Payne and Liam Lawson from Auckland, and Wright one of six drivers - the others being NZ#1 Callum Hedge from the Bay of Plenty, Samuel Wright from Hamiilton, Joshua Parkinson from Auckland, Blake Evans from Rotorua and Flynn Osborne from Tokoroa - to claim a heat win in Cadet.

This year's CRC Speedshow-backed Top Half series consists of four rounds with the third to be hosted by the KartSport Auckland on Sunday June 16.
