Dylan Hollis - Age Not A Factor

  2 April 2013

The 2013 AKA Nationals have wrapped up and the new champions have been crowned. The event saw the next generation of racers make their mark in several classes, including Dylan Hollis from Geelong in the junior category.

Since making the move from Rookies, where he was last year's NSW State Champion, to the hotly contested Junior National category, Dylan powered his way to pole at the 2013 Victorian State Championship, where he finished just off the podium in sixth.

He then took pole in Junior National Light at the Nationals at Monarto on the weekend, and crossed the line in second place behind fellow Arrow pilot, Bryce fullwood.

At the age of 11, Dylan is the youngest ever pole sitter at a National title in the modern era, and one of the youngest to compete where normally the age bracket is 12 and up.

Dylan and his family are set to contest the New South Wales, South Australian and Tasmanian State Championships during the year.

Dylan would like to thank his mum and his dad for all their support, his brother Andrew for setting up the go kart, the whole team at Drew Price Engineering and Arrow Karts for a fantastic kart, Pete and Clint Cathcart from CC Racing for fantastic engines, Cain Mouat from Kozmic Signs and Justin from Synergy Motorsport.
