  • Karting is part of Erebus Motorsport's plan to build a driver development program with its own in-house academy structure. So far, the sons of former Formula 3 team owner Sam Astuti (Antonio and Valentino) have enjoyed low-profile backing of their karting efforts. Erebus Motorsport general manager Barry Ryan told speedcafe.com that he is currently in discussion with kart manufacturers in order to build the grass-roots end of the operation, and says that karts and F3 are likely the extent of the program in the short term.   • This Sunday is the monthly 'club day races' date for Victorian clubs. However, most of them are electing not to run the meeting as it falls on Easter Sunday, plus clashes with the AKA Nationals - although that's not an issue for most club day racers! Before heading to the track this weekend, Victorian karters should check with their club.

  • Karting1's Alan Dove questions "Is top-level karting going through a quiet Golden Era of racing?" His look at International KZ racing would indicate this is so. There is currently some incredibly close multi-brand chassis/engine races happening in the current climate. He reckons that "despite being hilariously expensive and exclusive there is no doubt that the depth of talent racing in KZ1 is almost unrivalled in any other motorsport series in the world."   • There are plans for a potential new karting facility in NSW. Luddenham Raceway will have two circuits on the site and will be located on Luddenham Road, Luddenham (between Penrith and Liverpool in Sydney's West. From a karting perspective, the facility will include commercial hire karting and driver training. The plan is to also conduct AKA karting...
