Golden Power Series Opens At Morwell

from Debra Watchorn 25 March 2013

The first round of the 2013 Golden Power Series was run last weekend, March 23 & 24, by the Gippsland Kart Club at Morwell. One of the dominant drivers of the weekend was Kart #92 Ryan Aitken in Tag 125 Heavy. Ryan started out second in the final, passing Scott Cole on lap 3 and winning comfortably by the length of the main straight after 20 laps.

The meeting had over 200 entries with full fields in all classes. Weather held up with dry conditions over the weekend and strong winds on Sunday not affecting the race track. Saturday saw the race format push through several heat rounds with some racing up to 3 heats per class, so as the finals of 20 laps on Sunday were all run and finished for competitors to have an early start back home.

The Golden Power Series is well known and supported amongst Victorian Karters, with fantastic prizes available for those who complete the whole 5 rounds of the series. The karters and clubs thank all the sponsors of the Golden Power Series for their support.

The next round of the Golden Power Series will be run on 11 & 12 May at Bendigo Kart Club.
