  • Betty Klimenko's Erebus Motorsport is quickly building a cult following. Of interest to us are the organisation's plans to develop a Karting Academy. While official details are yet to be made public, the project already has a facebook page - "The Erebus Academy is a grass roots movement to develop young drivers from all ages and levels within the confines of the Erebus Motorsport brand."

  • The Gippsland Kart Club is mourning the loss of long-term member Duncan Orr who lost his life in New Zealand on Saturday morning. A soldier with the Australian Army Reserve, Orr was hit by a truck while off duty near Christchurch. Duncan and his parents, Ray and Helen, had been active members of the club for many years. In addition to karting, he had participated on-stage in local theatre productions, played with the Traralgon City Band and was active with the Traralgon Harriers Running Club. Our thoughts are with his wife Anna, family, friends and colleagues. His funeral will be held this Friday at St Michaels Church in Traralgon at 11:30am. RIP Duncan.

Additionally, the event is open to International drivers on a first-in basis. The meeting should be huge as racers try the venue out before the Worlds.
