Track Update - 2013 AKA Nationals

  15 February 2013

Ian Williams has provided the readers of KartSportNews with an update about preparations for the 51st AKA Nationals that will be held at Monarto, SA, over Easter.

"There have been many improvements made over the past few months, the pictures show an all new canteen / clubrooms adjacent to turn 1,  and the ingrid and outgrids have both been extended with provision for in-ground scales.

There have also been additions to the bitumen surface with extra run-offs and a wider grid exit. The spectator fence now encircles the track to allow a full 360 degree viewing from anywhere around the outside of the racing surface.

It has also been announced that camping is available at the track for the week of the Nationals.  Cost is $250 and there are 30 spots available. The amenities have been improved to include male and female showers, and competitors will be able to pit out of their camping site for the event.

Entries are flowing in steadily and the larger teams are booking their pit spots for team transporters and trade spaces."
