HDR & Partners Sponsor Cooloola's Race For Daniel Daypress release Harrington Doyle Racing and its Team Partners are exceptionally proud to announce, with thanks to the Cooloola Coast Kart Club, that they will be the Event Naming Rights Sponsor for the upcoming Cooloola Coast Junior Gold Race for Daniel Day to be held at the Gympie Kart racing venue on 14th & 15th January 2012. Sunshine Coast boy, Daniel Morcombe went missing almost eight years ago, aged 13, and a recent arrest in his case led to a search for his remains in muddy bushland near Beerwah, on the Sunshine Coast. Daniel was abducted while waiting for a bus on a busy highway in his local area just before Christmas in 2003. Daniel’s parents in 2005, together with local community leaders, collaborated to establish the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to promote Child Safety Awareness.
“When Kym Coomber, President of the Cooloola Coast Kart Club recently wrote to me to tell me about a terrific concept her Club had for a “Race for Daniel Day” to raise funds for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation Inc. it was very easy for us to say yes and be proactively involved. With our HDR Team Partners on board, together with some other terrific event sponsors like EMT Medical Services, Sunstate Gas & Plumbing, Matilda Truck & Travel and Preferred Plaster, I expect that Kym and the team at the Cooloola Coast Kart Club will most certainly make this into an amazing Community & Sporting event in my home town”.
The Cooloola Karting event scheduled early in the New Year will be more than just another Kart race meeting; it will be yet another opportunity to keep a clear focus on Harm Prevention, Child Safety Awareness and Fun in our communities. Cadet, Rookie and Junior Karters and their families from across Queensland and Northern New South Wales will be encouraged by fantastic prizes to join with the Cooloola and Sunshine Coast communities at this two day event to raise further funds for The Daniel Morcombe Foundation. “We’re thrilled that Harrington Doyle Racing and their Partners chose to support this special event. Their contribution with other sponsors will allow us to leverage some major prizes for competitors”, said Cooloola Coast Kart Club President, Mrs. Kym Coomber. “The Daniel Morcombe Foundation has done significant work to implement Harm Prevention and our club felt that this Foundation is an integral part of all of our communities. In the past, the Cooloola Junior Gold event has always given away tremendous prizes to competitors, but this year we chose to forfeit those same prize funds as a donation to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. We knew that the prizes are a key draw card for drivers, but we felt that the donation was more important. Now however with the sponsorship of Harrington Doyle Racing, EMT Medical Services, Sunstate Gas & Plumbing, Matilda Truck & Travel and Preferred Plaster we will be able to both give away some major prizes and a make a very generous donation to The Daniel Morcombe Foundation. We couldn’t be more pleased.” “Our Race Team’s sponsorship is the very least that we can do. This is a win-win-win opportunity for the Junior Karters, the Club and Daniel’s Foundation”, said Doyle. “It’s important to me that we celebrate the freedom and enjoyment that our sport provides to so many and in doing so, the Cooloola Coast Junior Gold Race for Daniel Day will also be a perfect opportunity for our Team to give back to not only those that immediately support us, but also the broader communities that regularly welcome us into their home towns. Most importantly, our HDR Team Families and Team Partners hope that the weekend will serve to remind us all, to look out and care for each other.” Like Harrington Doyle Racing, the Cooloola Coast Kart Club and its members also hope that this special 14th & 15th January 2012 Karting event will significantly promote the Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s aims of making the world a safer place for our children. The Club is working hard and eagerly organising a whole event weekend of activities around a fantastic Cadet, Rookies & Junior Racing Program.
