BRM Kart Stolen In Melbourne
Low-life scum have turned the world upside down for Tasmanian kart racer Steven Wrigley. After arriving by boat in Melbourne on Wednesday night, Wrigley's prized BRM kart and two Clubman engines, along with a host of other accessories, were stolen from his van.
Wrigley was in Melbourne preparing for this weekend’s City of Melbourne Titles. His van was broken into during the early hours of Thursday morning on Stevens Street, Yarraville.
Taken from the van was his BRM kart, two Yamaha Clubman engines, toolbox and Sidchrome tools, 6x3 Ezi-Up tent, Sparco helmet, Sparco race suit, various axles & sprockets, two sets of brand new MG Red tyres, brand new set of wet weather tyres and rims, plus his clothing for the week.

Keep an eye out for these identifying marks:
- the kart has GLB Contructions signage on the nose cone
- The airbox has been airbrushed with a face on it
- the BRM chassis has a welded repair on the engine-side seat mounting
- the grey/black race suit and helmet have some scuff marks from a roll-over (scuffs on helmet front spoiler)
Should anyone come across any of this equipment or have any information please email lee@bammedia.com.au
Having been affected by the greed of thieves, Wrigley has also experienced the generosity of the karting community. Despite the setback, he will still be participating in the City of Melbourne Titles thanks to the kindness of families such at the Purdies who have supplied him with equipment to use for the weekend.
Good luck Steve!
