CCSKC Championship Round 6

from Vic Maastricht

Hosted by Central Coast Speedway Kart Club on Sun 17th August 2008, Gosford Kart Speedway, Gosford Showground.

After a full track re-grade, and beautiful sunny conditions, we were all prepared for a great days racing. However, the first few heats required a separate practice session to enable more track packing. But once completed, the track was dialled in to perfection, and outside passing was possible for most of the day !

In the Midget class, Kyle Angel won the day with maximum points, followed by Levi Moir and James Peters who were trading placings each race.

The Rookies ended up with Reagan Angel blitzing the field, almost claiming maximum points, followed by Nikki Briton who took out the Feature race, and Ayden Elliott coming home third.

In the Juniors, Bradley Giffen took out the days honours, with consistent placings by Ashleigh Briton, to take a well deserved 2nd on the day. Cassie Ralph finished in 3rd place, rounding out some great finishes by the girls !

With a smaller field of Clubman Lights, Nathan Bailey, Wayne Baines & Natalie Genner battled up-front all day, with Nathan eventually taking out the days honours. Wayne Baines just edged out Natalie for 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

Clubman Heavies were the largest class of the day, with many new drivers participating. Gary Slarke proved most consistent in the heats to eventually take out 1st place overall. Ross Turnbull claimed 2nd place, by a small margin over Matt Bond. Congratulations to Joel Rhind for taking out the feature race.

In the Clubman Over 40 class, Grant Lahiff took the days honours, even after a DNF in one race, which was consistent with all drivers who DNF’d at least one race each. Congratulations to Shane Flowers on 2nd and Stuart Bond for 3rd.

Our KT modified class continues to attract great numbers each meeting, and our new entrant this year, Nathan Bailey, took out first place again, with a clean sweep of all races. Daniel White and Matt Bond took out the minor placings.
