Bowler Takes His First Win

press release

After enjoying numerous seconds and third places South Australian Junior National Light pilot Keaton Bowler has tasted victory for the first time - and it was sweet.

The 13 year old Golden Grove High School student was driving his Arrow AX9  competing at the Dublin Open held last Sunday 24th August.

The venue for the event was one of Bowlers favorite tracks, the ultra tight and twisty Robinson Park Raceway located in the state’s serene Barossa Valley.

Bowler, who is competing in his first season in the spirited Junior National Light class, was ecstatic as he greeted his dad returning to parc ferm'e after the final. “After the first heat I realised that if I was consistent and kept my focus during the day I could have a very good chance of winning my first meeting.  In the final the dominos all fell my way and when I crossed the line in 3rd place, which was all I needed, I knew that I had finally done it, that the monkey was well and truly off my back” said the teenager.

Season 2008 is Bowlers fourth  since his 2004 debut in Midgets.  He then moved to Rookies in 2007.  “I started 2008 in Junior National Light with some specific goals in mind, the main one being to win a race meeting by the end of the year” smiled Bowler.  Numerous victories had cruelly eluded him in the Rookie class.

Keaton is one of two racing Bowler brothers.  Jarred has a long history of front running in Leopard light.  “Jarred is one of my mentors,” said young Bowler. ”It’s a bit of a shame he wasn’t here to see this victory, but he’s just as ecstatic as I am” he concluded.

On the podium Bowler thanked his motor racing supporters: Grain Storage Systems Australia , Kubpower , Adelaide Lift & Tractors , Brice Metals , CRT , Cole Crash City , C& A Drive Solutions & Soil Management Systems, and of course his father and brother.
