press release

The New South Wales Speedway Kart Club returns to the Nepean Motorsports complex this up coming Sunday (August 24) for round 6 of the GREAT 2008 championship season.

The two day NSW shootout provided some of the best speedway karting action seen this year and with the Junior division missing with volunteer duties, the Midgets, Rookies, Clubman (Heavy & Light) KT Open (Heavy & Light) and the premier division the Formula 100’s will all be fighting it out in round six.

The newly crowned NSW Title holders Nathan Bailey (KT Light), Steven Mitchell (Clubman Heavy), John Watton (KT Heavy), David Hopping (Clubman Light), Corey Foyle (Midgets), Regan Angel (Rookies) and Brent Coghlan (Formula 100) will be back trying to add another feature win to that successful meeting a month ago.

With just four rounds remaining in the GREAT 2008 season, the battle for the club championship is certainly hotting up. Club President Wayne Baines lost the series lead after round five to the current 2007 club champion Michael Jordan who has 530 compared to Wayne Baines on 513. But following behind is Nathan Bailey (498), impressive Midget racer Corey Foyle (492), Cameron Coghlan (481) and fast lady racer Alana Baines (478) complete the top six. So this Sundays PR Machine Kart Grand Prix meeting is certainly going to be another tough but exciting day of racing.

It’s a very family friendly day of great speedway racing with mums dads and the kids all getting involved at the NSWSKC meetings

The Nepean Motorsports complex is situated on Rickards Road, Castlereagh with racing starting at 10am.
