De La O HEads To Seattle With Points Lead

press release

Current Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) front runner Phil De La O, along with new teammate James Michael Sullivan, is set to head to Seattle, Washington for the Snap-on Stars of Karting West Division finale. Looking to sew up the West division championship and set himself up for a definite shot at the national title, De La O is prepared and ready for the event.

“I’m excited to get to the track and get going this weekend,” explained current point leader De La O. “We have had a few weeks off from the JICA scene but have done well in other forms of karting. Staying behind the wheel is the key to success and I am quite confident that we can leave the weekend with another two victories and the lead in the overall national title chase.”

Phil De La O opened the Western divisional championship at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah with a dominating victory in final one. Looking to repeat in the second of the two weekend features, De La O led early before finishing in the second position, solidifying himself as a proven championship contender.

Next on tap would be the Race of the Americas at New Castle Motorsports Park where De La O had a career weekend. The talented junior pilot worked his way through the heat races to set up a front row starting position for the main events and never put a wheel wrong as he drove to two victories and left the Hoosier state with the point lead. De La O will now look to wrap the championship up this coming weekend as the Snap-on Stars of Karting series closes out the West division at a temporary circuit near the Seattle, Washington area.

Joining De La O this weekend under the De La O Motorsports tent will be JICA rookie pilot James Michael Sullivan. The ever improving Colorado pilot will jump aboard a Tony Kart chassis for the remainder of the season as he continues to move up in the ranks of the challenging JICA category. Sullivan and De La O will work together on setup information as the two pilots look to get up to speed early on the unfamiliar temporary circuit.

Phil would like to thank his sponsors and supporters for a successful year to date: Red Bull and Northwest Floor and Wall. A special thank you continues to go out to Tony Kart, Ariel Castrol and High-Rev Engines for their continued support through the 2008 racing season.
