some kart racing updates...

  • Half-price entries are available to KA licence holders and interstaters who want to try long-circuit karting at Lakeside where the Queensland Superkart Club will run the opening round of the 2017 series:


  • The Whyalla Caravan Park (sponsor of the Whyalla Kart Club) is offering a huge 25% off accommodation for all Whyalla race meetings, including the Whyalla City Titles on May 13-14.


  • Whyalla Kart club also advise the race meeting scheduled for March 4th has had to be cancelled. The club's Dave Camwell said new bitumen, kerbing, gravel traps etc look fantastic, but there are still a number of task to finish off. "All work will be well and truly completed before our next club event on April 22nd" he said.

  • The Stony Creek circuit in Victoria has commenced the installation of circuit lighting, digging trenches to lay the power cabling:


  • The track extension at Albury-Wodonga was officially opened on the weekend. The initial track records for the new layout have now been established:

    Trailer & Vehicle Storage

    • OPTION A)
      Self Storage Australia (http://www.selfstore.com.au/) have a new facility which has just opened up on the corner of Womma Rd and Peachey Rd, Edinburgh (about 15min from the track).  Site apparently well suited for trailers and is secure with regular patrols. Call Rachel on (08) 8369 3055. Cost is $150/month (pro-rated; i.e. refund will be provided for partial months upon exit).
    • OPTION B)
      U-Store-It at Para Hills West (near Parafield).  They have limited site availability, but it is another option.  Contact Tanya on 08 8283 3355.


    Practice Information for Pro Tour Competitors

    The Bolivar kart track is available for practice every day by prior arrangement with the club from now until the end of Sunday the 5th of March, when the track will close as per the Supplementary Regulations.

    PLEASE NOTE: The circuit will only be operational in the Anti-Clockwise direction. The venue is not licenced to be used in the Clockwise direction at all. The club has advised to be aware of any rumours that may be circulating.

    The track will be reserved for Pro Tour Competitors ONLY on Saturday 4th / Sunday 5th March, and at all other times will be open to our members as per usual. Practice fees are $50 per day per driver. Day membership forms and practice fee payment both need to be completed prior to practice.

    Pit Allocation
    Competitors who wish to leave equipment at the track from Sunday 5th March onwards may do so only by prior arrangement with the club. There will be NO security at the venue until Thursday night 9th March as per the Supplementary Regulations, and competitors will be leaving equipment at their own risk!
    To help with pit allocation the club is asking that all competitors and teams send their required pit space information to:

    Please send this information as soon as possible, including Drivers names and total space required for tents/marquee/trailers in metres. (i.e. 6x6, 6x12, 12x12 etc. )
