  • RULES - AIDKA has now published the organisation's rule book for 2017. Competitors are encouraged to familiarise themselves with any changes that have been made from last year. Click HERE to download the 60-page PDF. Other AIDKA documentation (policies, technical specifications etc) can be found on AIDKA's website HERE.

  • TRUCKIN' ALONG - Patrizicorse has revealed its "newest member of the team". Constructed by Aldom Truck bodies in South Australia, the team's new IVECO is set to debut at the opening round of the Australian Kart Championship. "This transporter will help our ever expanding racing team grow and make life a little easier" team owner Michael Patrizi posted on Facebook. Modelled off similar race team vehicles in Europe, a full-length annexe attaches to the truck. Storage bins in the side will allow the team to pack and unpack while the annexe is standing. The staircase retracts and swings inside. Multiple karts will sit on special trollies that can be wheeled in and out of the top floor via the full-height tailgate. Patrizi told KartSpotNews that, with such a busy schedule, the signwriting and livery will have to wait for the moment.

  • AUSSIES ABROAD - Marcos Flack and Jack Doohan are racing at the Adria circuit in Italy for the second week in a row. After both making the finals at the WSK Champions Cup last weekend (Flack finished 11th, Doohan DNFd), the duo is set to do it again at the opening round (of four) of the WSK Super Master Series. Around 250 drivers will compete across the four classes, KZ2, OK, OK Junior and 60 Mini. Entry list, time table, live timining etc will be available on the WSK site HERE.

  • EVENT - There's a double enduro at Newcastle, Feb 18-19:

  • TYRES - IKD advise that the Rotax 125 Heavy class will be competing on the MOJO D3 tyre with White Barcodes at Round 2 of the Rotax Pro Tour on 10th to 12th March at Bolivar Raceway.

  • EVENT - Camping will be allowed at the opening round of the 2017 Queensland Kart Championship. "We have shower & toilet facilities and those who camp in their trailers should be fine to do so in their pit area" the Mackay and District Kart Club advised. A designated area away from the pits will be established for those wishing to erect tents. The club has stated this is an effort to reduce costs and help draw grass roots competitors to this championship meeting. "Camping is more often than not prohibited at championship events and it is surprising how many people have called up asking if they can camp". The event runs from April 7 to 9. Supp Regs will be out in due course.

  • POLITICS - This is not karting, but a reminder there's more than one sanctioning body to race under. A number of off-road racing clubs have banded together to form a new entity (Australian Off Road Management Group) and become affiliated with AASA (Australian Auto Sport Alliance). The group contracted an independent sports lawyer to assess AASA's insurance policy before proceeding. "A key factor in the decision of the group to move is to give Off Road Racing greater control of the sport with its own management board making the decisions in consultation with the clubs and competitors..." offroadracing.com.au reported. More about this move can be found on the offroadracing.com.au website HERE.

  • TIMING - How's this photo by Pace Images; the moment Luke McPherson's axle key was spat out on the roll around lap in DD2 Masters at Pro Tour on the weekend. Coincidentally, the photographer (Ben Roehlen) picked it up off the track but was unaware at the time where it came from.
