Chassis Partners Announced For Rotax Grand Finals

  26 January 2017

Rotax has decided to keep the same chassis partners for this year's Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals.

Long-term partners Birel ART, IPKarting (Praga) and Sodikart will once again supply karts for this, the 18th running of the RMCGF.

Each company will support the same class as last year, although there will be a new chassis size for the Mini MAX class.

  • Birel ART:
    • Rotax 125 Mini MAX
    • Rotax 125 MAX DD2
  • IPKarting (Praga chassis):
    • Rotax 125 Micro MAX
    • Junior MAX
  • Sodikart
    • Rotax 125 MAX
    • DD2 Masters

360 drivers will take part, meaning around 400 chassis and a large spare parts inventory is required at the event.

"To have partners on board who are able to manage the tremendous workload before and during the event is essential" BRP-Rotax announced in a statement.

"An essential difference at the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals 2017 will be the chassis frame for the Rotax 125 Mini MAX class. Due to the changed age limit (11-13 years of age) they will race with 1040 chassis to fit also tall drivers and to offer a more effective braking system for this age band."

The Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals will take place at the 1.6km Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal from November 4 to 11, 2017.

Drives wishing to participate with Team Australia commence their campaign for a ticket at the opening round of Rotax Pro Tour in Melbourne (practice today, qualiying and heats Friday, Finals are on Saturday).
