Changes To Rotax MAX Euro Challenge
A number of changes have been announced for the 2017 Rotax MAX Euro Challenge, including a new spec-chassis 'Junior Sport' class (much like Australia's Junior Trophy class), introduction of the Mini Max category, plus some tyre and age changes. The key elements are:
Rotax Mini Max
- The class will be limited to 34 entries
- Only the 1040 chassis will be allowed
- Class will race using the Mojo D2 tyre
- Age limit 10 to 12
Rotax Junior
- The entry age will lower by one year
- Class will race using the Mojo D2 tyre
Rotax Senior
- The entry age will lower by one year
- The class will race on the Mojo D3 tyre
Rotax DD2
Rotax Junior Sport
- The introduction of the first arrive and drive class in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge
- All chassis in the class will be provided by Praga karts
- All drivers will have the same awning space
- All drivers will receive engines included in the package
- One cost all included, except spare parts
"The Rotax Junior Sport class was specifically created for those wishing to take part in international kart competitions in a less complex manner" RGMMC published.
Each driver will receive the same material which includes:
- Inscription fee
- Thursday practice day ticket
- Complete kart
- Engine
- Awning space
- Tool box
- Fuel
- 2 sets of slick tyres for free practice
- 2 sets of wet tyres for free practice
- 2 sets of wet tyres for racing
- 2 sets of slick tyres for racing
The fixed-price fee is 3,900 Euro (AUS $5,660) per race (excluding breakages). If drivers secure their place and sign up between the 14th of November and 5th of December this year for all 4 rounds, the total price drops by 600 Euro to 15,000 Euro ($21,780).
