  • Here's a highlights video (three-and-a-half minutes) of the WA Kart Championship that attracted 256 entries at the Tiger Kart Club's Wanneroo circuit the other weekend. Results were posted at the time HERE:


  • This weekend will see a bunch of Aussies compete in the IAME International Final at LeMans, France. Live timing will be HERE (between 12-16 October) and Live Stream HERE. The drivers competing are:

  • Aim SportSystems will be attending the Gold Coast Race of Stars this Friday 14th to Sunday 16th October. "We will be there to assist our dealers and customers with product support, technical advice and any setup information, including with our new release MyChron5" Aim advise.   • It was a flat tyre that robbed young Kiwi karter Marcus Armstrong of a top six finish in the premier KZ2 class at the WSK Final Cup in Italy last week. Armstrong set the second quickest lap time in qualifying and finished fifth in the Pre Final. He was running 5th in the final when forced to DNF on the last lap. "A tyre blister caused a puncture and we retired after running as high as fourth," he said from the track.

  • The Melbourne Speedway Kart Club has announced it will host the Victorian State Title for the upcoming 2016/2017 season. It will be run at Ballarat's Redline Raceway on April 15/16. This is the week prior to the Australian Title at the same venue, so it's sure to be a huge week for the speedway karting fraternity!

  • Make sure you pack your trailer with correct weight distribution in mind! This is a great video demo:

  • Newcastle kart track now has an on-site kart shop and repair centre. Trackside Motorsport is located in the paddock area of the facility and operated by Dan and Liam Ferry.


  • The #RacingForPink "Ayrton's Little Rockets" team competed at the Junior Sprint Classic at Puckapunyal recently, rasing money for Breast Cancer. "We were able to raise $274.50 with our donation tin, and the pink shirts were a hit amongst the younger ones! Thank you very much to all who donated" the team's Ayrton Creagh told KartSportNews. Below is the team's Matt Morris who finished 5th in KA4 Junior Heavy.

  • 2016 Newcastle City Cup this weekend will have racing over two days - but each day will be raced in a different direction!


  • In the 19 year history of SKUSA's SuperNationals, only two drivers have entered every single year - Bonnier Moulton and Howie Idelson. For this year's 20th running, SKUSA has charged these two veterans, both well known karting industry identities, with the task of designing a new track layout for at the Las Vegas Convention Center. "I’m super excited to see what we come up with for the design for SuperNationals 20. This is so cool” SKUSA's Tom Kutscher said. Moulton has won at the SuperNationals on three previous occasions and designed the Black Rock Raceway in Utah. Idelson has competed in 12 countries and was a co-founder of the Gearbox and Renspeed brands.

  • The design for the 2016 Race of Stars powered by SuperFest Gold Coast Winners surfboard has been released. Who's gonna get to take one of these home?


  • Vroom report some driver/team changes prior to the OK World Championships in Bahrain. Fast Spanish girl Marta Garcia Lopez has switched to Intrepid, having recently run with the team in the Italian Championships. Meanwhile, Ulysse De Pauw has moved from BirelART to race Kosmic chassis with Olivier Marechal's team.

  • The 2017 IKF Road Race Grand Nationals will take place at The Ridge Motorsports Park. The impressive circuit was constructed near Seattle in 2011. The unique layout incorporates the rolling hills and natural attributes of the area, resulting in a technical 3.98km course with 16 turns and nearly 100m of elevation change. The event will be the first "Grand Nationals" on the road racing side of the IKF organization since 2013. It will also see the awarding of an IKF Duffy, one of the most sought-after trophies in North American karting. The Duffy was established by the International Kart Federation in 1976 and originally known as the ‘Joe Karter’ award given to Grand Nationals winners. In 1981, the IKF Board voted to rename the 18-inch tall trophy after karting pioneer Frank "Duffy" Livingstone.

  • At the conclusion of the WSK Final Cup at Adria Karting Raceway, all the CIK-FIA equipment was loaded into containers and shipped to Bahrain in preparation of the CIK-FIA World Championship for OK and OK Junior. The 2016 edition takes place on the circuit of Sakhir on 17-20th November.



  • A photo gallery of images from the LeMans 24-hour kart race is on the CIK-FIA site. The event ran two categories, one for 125cc OK engines, the other for 'traditional' 125 TaG engines. Click HERE to have a look.

  • The final round round of the 2016 AUSTRANS Victorian Country Series is this weekend, Oct 15-16, at Hamilton. "We are very excited to announce that the final value of series trophies and prizes is nudging $30,000!" organisers advised KartSportNews. The final round is a 2 day event, with series presentations at the close of raicing on Sunday. More points are on offer for the final round, plus the normal Kerbrider of the Day prizes for great racing in cadets, juniors and seniors. "It should be a great weekend's racing with over 140 already entered and a really fun track.     A field of 38 Briggs & Stratton 206cc 4-cycle powered karts with full bodywork took the green flag in the first race of the weekend at Rock Island. B&S powered karts are starting to dominate the sport in the U.S. due to their low cost and sealed engines.
