AIDKA Create Dirt Karting History

  31 August 2016

A record 425 nominations have been received for the 2016 Australian Dirt Kart Nationals. The event takes place at the Yorke Peninsula Kart Club in South Australia from September 30 to October 2.

"With AIDKA Dirt Karting only holding a National title event every two years, and with the title being held very central to the hub of dirt karting in Adelaide, numbers have exceeded the expectations of many" Dirt Kart World advised KartSportNews.

It's an impressive stat when organisers can boast that all but two of the classes competing are oversubscribed.

This means there will be 30 races per round and each class will get four rounds of racing plus a final to determine the 2016 national champions.

"There are many many new names in the nomination list as well as some of the heavy-hitters of the sport again looking to add to their trophy arsenal" DKW added.

75 Junior drivers are set to contest the three under-age classes; J-Open, Junior Heavy and Junior Light

The family-based Yorke Peninsula Kart Club was established in 1991 and is located half way between Kadina and Wallaroo. The club hosted the 2010 SA State Titles with huge success.
