  • The Kiwis seem mighty happy with the American Briggs & Stratton LO206 class for budget-conscious grassroots level karting. Not sure about the "utter simplicity" statement (what, with all those extra moving parts inside a 4-stroke), but the package is growing in NZ as it has done in the United States and Canada recently. Footage below was taken at the 2016 Briggs Day Out, KartSport Wellington.

  • DPE Kart Technology has sold the race team's truck to Velocity Kart Shop. "As a result of this we will be unable sell spare parts at round 4 of the Australian Kart Championship" DPE informed KartSportNews. "Our MG Tyre Truck will still be able to take spare parts orders to the race event, but all orders must be received by 10am on Monday the 27th of June to ensure there's time to prepare your order before the truck begins its long haul up to Queensland." DPE Kart Technology plan to have their new truck ready to resume normal service for the final round of the Championship.

  • The Rock Island Grand Prix has announced that this year’s open shifter "King of the Street" race will honor the memory of former Superkarts! Alan Rudolph has won the crown a record five times with Jordon Musser next on four. Former F1 racer Scott Speed won in 2002.
