  • The points have been updated for the 2016 Tasmanian Karter of the Year - click HERE to download a PDF listing each drivers points in each class. Eight events count toward the title, four of which have now been run. The rules and regulations about how the Tasmanian Karter of the Year award is calculated can be found HERE.

  • The IKD Race Department in Emu Plains (Sydney) will be closed this Saturday 4th June due to IKD's commitments to the Rotax Pro Tour round in Ipswich. It will re-open on Monday at 8:30am.

  • poer plus 98 fuel for kartingAIDKA has added an additional fuel to the organisations list of "approved fuels". The AIDKA council recently voted to allow the use of PowerPlus 98+. This fuel can be used immediately.

    "Performance testing has been conducted with no additional power gain found from its use" AIDKA published. "The reason for the change is due to the increasing issues drivers are finding with regular PULP fuel, so an additional “drum” fuel has been approved for use." The 98+ is the only Power Plus fuel that has been approved. Rule 27.9 Approved fuels now reads: Premium Unleaded Petrol (PULP) produced by major refineries, VP C9, Powerplus 98+

  • AiM SportSystems will be at Ipswich for Rotax Pro Tour round 4 from this Friday, June 3. "We will be there to assist our Dealers and Customers with product support, technical advice and any setup information. We will also be there to assist our Dealers and new Customers with our new release of MyChron5" AiM posted. If you need any assistance on any day, contact Ron on 0418 424 560.

  • Tthe Lindstrom family in Melbourne has been synonymous with karting for three generations. There is little doubt that on May 23, the fourth generation was born for on the day Jace and Samantha Lindstrom welcomed Kai Edward to the world. Kai tipped the scales at 2.78kgs. Congrats to all!

  • Another high quality karting trailer has been stolen. Adam Fletcher of Hasse Karts Australia had his four-kart trailer, which had the Haase spare parts boxes inside, stolen from AMR Kartsport in Clayton a few days ago. The specs are:

    VIN - 6T9T27R06B09WM007
    The trailer required a repair to the front door. "Hopefully the door will come off and knock them out!" Fletcher posted. A reward is offered for its safe return. If seen, contact police.

  • RIP Kobi Stubbs. These stickers adorned karts at the weekend's event in Ipswich, in memory of Kobi Stubbs, a young driver who was tragically killed in a freak accident at his Beaudesert home the week prior. More on Couriermail HERE.


  • Joshua Fife will race in the KZ class at round 2 of the German championship. "On the Sunday night after Round 4 of Rotax Pro Tour in Ipswich, I head to Italy and then on to Germany to race KZ in DKM Round 2 in Ampfing with Energy Corse" he wrote on social media. "From there I will be testing in Sweden. Big thanks to Mick from Energy Corse for giving me this amazing opportunity and to Tom and Len Williamson from Tom Williamson Motorsport, who not only will be travelling with me, but have oganised this at such short notice. I can't wait!" Good luck Josh!

  • Mackay Kart Club is running another raffle this year where the lucky winner will receive a complete race kart package. This is a great opportunity for a new karter, or for a current racer to get into new gear for 2017. Cost is $25 a ticket and there are only 600 tickets on offer.   • Competitors should note, the Launceston McDonald's Young Guns meeting has moved to a Sunday date (June 19), not Saturday as originally published in the calendar. Prizes include free LKC t-shirt (for all juniors who enter), free entries to State Wide Series round 4, a set of tyres (to the winner of the Junior Young Guns feature) and random Easy Tune (donated by Gyro) and Sticker kit (Glenn Powles Design) prizes.


  • More detail has been revealed about the karting track on the Norwegian Joy cruise liner (see previous report HERE). The track will run over decks 18 and 19 and be 230m in length. It will have 20 'environmentally friendly' electric karts built and supplied by German company RiMO. The facility will include a viewing platform, covered pit lane, workshop, storage room, timing system and floodlights for after-dark racing.



  • Bairnsdale Isuzu is the major sponsor for this Sunday's open meeting in Eastern Victoria. The club is wanting karters to come and give their opinion of racing at the Bairnsdale track as they would liike to host a round of the Power Series in 2016. Qualifying, 2 heats and a final only counts will all run on Sunday. All day Saturday is allocated to practice.


  • Can't argue with Blake Purdie about this! - "Shout out to Dad for spending his nights out in the shed, in this rubbish weather, prepping my kart for racing in the Barossa tonight. Kart Dads (and mums) are awesome!!"

  • Broadford State Motorcycle Complex will host the 10th and final round of the MSKC 2015/16 Speedway Kart Championship. It will be a two-day season finale before the points are tallied and champions crowned at the end of season presentation.
