Marijn On Song In Monarto

Australian-based Dutchman Marijn Kremers has enjoyed a strong start to his campaign in Round Three of the Australian Kart Championship presented by Jayco and Castrol EDGE in Monarto, South Australia.

Competing in both the X30 and KZ2 classes the Ricciardo Kart driver was in the winners circle for both classes across the day.

Kremers secured a career-first pole position in the X30 class. He then went on to cross the line first in all three heat races. Pro Karting pilot Adam Lindstrom claimed a pair of second placings while Joshua Car and Ben Harders also ran near the front of the field.

Joshua Fife continued his strong form from Friday’s practice to set the pace in qualifying before going on to secure the victory in the opening KZ2 heat. In heat two Kremers showed superior speed to claim the win.

Continuing his success from the previous round Jack Doohan took a clean sweep of the action on qualifying day in the KA2 class. Cameron Longmore recorded two second finishes while Angelo Mouzouris recovered from a pair of non-finishes in the opening two races to claim third place in the final heat race of the day.

Shamick Racing’s Harry Arnett broke the dominance of Alex Ninovic with a heat win in the second race while FA Kart driver Brendan Nelson took a clean sweep of the TaG 125 action.

In the KA4 Junior class the top four raced intensely throughout the day with Jay Hanson, Cooper Webster, Travis Worton and Beau Harris dicing it out.

Local driver Paul Pittam qualified on pole position in KA1 before Harrington Doyle Racing driver Scott Sorensen secure the race win in both heats contested.

While Jobe Stewart stole the show in Cadet 12 qualifying it was Championship leader Kai Allen who was victorious in all three heat races.

The racing continues tomorrow from 8:30am tomorrow.

The Monarto Karting Complex is located just outside of Murray Bridge on the Old Princess Highway, Monarto. Admission is free for spectators.
