Aussies Overseas

Five Australian karters competed overseas on the weekend, two of them bringing home podium results with one enjoying a win.

Best result came from Sydney teenager Cody Brewczynski, taking victory at round 4 of the New Zealand Rotax MAX Challenge in Rotorua. Cody qualified 4th and picked up a string of second placings before winning the Final. Queensland's Jac Preston qualified 12th, then finished ninth in the 20-kart field.

At round three the day prior, Brewczynski was third and Preston 17th. Matthew Payne took the win. (Round 3 results are on mylaps HERE, round 4 HERE)

In America, Reece Cohen finished third in the opening round of the Sofina Foods US Open at Nola Motorsport Park. Cohen had earlier qualified 10th (out of 22) in Junior MAX before carding 2nd, 15th, 2nd, 5th across the four heats. Full results are on mylaps HERE.

Meanwhile, over in France, Dutchman Marijn Kremers was classified as an Aussie, racing on an Australian licence at the opening round of the KZ2 World Championship. Starting an encouraging 5th in his pre-final, Kremers drifted back during the race to finish 10th. He was then classified 25th in the Final having incurred a time penalty.
