karting updates from... anywhere!

  • Deadly Karts have entered the dirt karting market with this new green machine, manufactured by DPE Kart Technology. "Hoping these karts turn some heads on & off the track" Deadly's David Sera wrote on social media. "We're confident this package will turn some heads." Possibly even more exciting is that Sera is considering making his dirt racing debut later this year...

  • Woodgate Racing now has Maxxis HG3 tyres in stock. The Melbourne-based kart manufacturer (Woodgate EVO Superkart chassis) and engine builder imported a quantity of tyres to service the 125 Non-Gearbox (Rotax) Superkart market. See more at www.woodgateracing.com

  • Finally, there will soon be a reason to board a cruise ship. The first ever 'race track at sea' will be incorporated in the Norwegian Joy, due to make its maiden voyage in 2017. The twisting mostly outdoor kart track will run over two levels of the new ship. In addition to the kart track, the Joy will also feature hovering bumper cars, simulators, immersive rides, virtual reality experiences and a 360-feet-long water slide that partly hangs off the side of the ship. More detail HERE.

  • The UK has adopted the Vortex DDS and DDJ OK engines for the 2016 MSA British Championship. All engines must be supplied via the UK importer, Strawberry Racing, and include the OTK/Vortex sticker seals (as seen in the photo below) as evidence the engine came via that source. Once received, competitors can then organise a maintenance & tuning program with whoever they choose. Strawberry will hire out motors to drivers who commit to all three rounds for £350 ($645 AUS) per round, or from £500 ($920) for individually selected races.
