Vic Superkarts, Round 2

The non gearbox Rotax classes provided the best racing and entertainment on the April 9 race day, enjoying over 112 kilometres of racing on the world class Phillip Island circuit.

Russ Occhipinti ran away from the light field and set a new lap record of 1 min 54.3041 in the process meanwhile a long way back Travis Jones, Brayden Bailey and Sanuja Perera fought over the remaining podium places.

Jarrod Sanfilipo made an easy day of it clean sweeping the Heavy class and also set a new lap record of 1 min 58.1131. David Murphy finished with a convincing second while Michael Ambruosi edged out Mario Florio in the final for a spot on the podium.

Rotax drivers in particular are invited to join the Victorian Superkart Club at their next race meeting at the Broadford road circuit on May 15. Come on up and see what Superkarting is all about!

Entry to the circuit is free and racing kicks off at 10 am.
