Lap records tumbled at the Gippsland Go Kart Club’s first meeting for 2016, the February club day, on Sunday.
After a working bee on Saturday to prepare the facility for the Golden Power Series round this weekend, many competitors used Saturday afternoon to try out their karts on the new-for-2016 tyres, and to get their eye back in after the off season.
In near perfect conditions, and on softer grippier tyres, the following new lap records were established:
Above: Elly Morrow (25) and Nikola Alger (5) battled for honours in TaG Light, both enjoying 2 wins and 2 seconds, but it was Morrow who won the final, set a lap record and top scored the round
