A couple of young Aussie karters who live in the United Arab Emirates competed in the Dubai O-Plate event a week ago, with one taking some heat wins and the other finishing on the podium.
Brothers Lachlan (12) and Jakob (14) Robinson are both contesting the UAE Rotax MAX Challenge.

"On Friday I qualified in 2nd place and this was my place for all four heats on the Friday. 1st heat finished 4th, then heats 2 & 3 finished 1st & heat 4 finished 4th. These were my first ever P1 finishes.
"I started on pole for the Pre Final on Saturday and finished 2nd, then started the Final in 3rd. Unfortunately I was tangled up in two separate crashes which put me back to 9th, but I managed to fight back to finish in P4."

Jakob - Senior Max
"On Friday I qualified 6th which was disappointing. I managed to finish all my four heats in 4th place, but couldn't quite catch the top 3.
"Starting the Pre Final in 4th, I got caught in a turn two incident and ended up last. Fought really hard for laps then caught the pack and finished 5th.
"I started 5th in the final and got to 4th, however on the last lap, last turn, the front three were all fighting and I managed to get into 3rd. Was pretty happy with this result in the end."
