STATEMENT FROM PRO KARTING
Pro Karting Australia would like to take the opportunity to explain the disqualification of one of their drivers, Tex Starr-McKoy, over the weekend at the Rotax Pro Tour at Todd Road.
Grant Lindstrom from Pro Karting takes full responsibility for a mistake made which saw Tex Starr-McKoy disqualified for an illegal restrictor in the Mini Max class.
Grant fitted the Mini Max restrictor supplied with the engine from the previous owner without checking the size. This restrictor was a 2014 exhaust restrictor. The restrictor was NOT machined, nor had it been modified by the owner - it was simply the 2014 restrictor.
In 28 years of engine building this is the first infringement Grant Lindstrom has ever had.
It was an honest mistake which was dealt with in the correct manner.
