Tassie Karters Hit The Road for National Events

Five of Tassie’s brightest karters hit the track this weekend, competing at the Rotax Pro Tour and the Ladies Cup at Lithgow.

Launceston's Mitchell Kerrison has been busy practising in his new Redspeed for his debut in the ultra-competitive Junior Max class at round 1 of the Pro Tour which is being held this weekend at the Go Kart Club of Victoria.

Kerrison competed last year in the Junior Max Trophy class finishing in the top 10 at the end of the series. Mitchell has joined the very highly credentialed Troy Hunt Top Gun racing team for 2016.

Brothers Xavier Renshaw and Cullum Bishop from the Southern Kart Club will also be taking on the countries best drivers at the Pro Tour with Xavier competing for the first time in Micro Max aboard a Tony Kart and Cullum returning after last year’s sucsefull foray in Mini Max and has stepped up into Junior Max Trophy.

Both will receive driving tuition and kart setup from Tasmanian’s karting guru Chris Schofield.

The ladies only race meeting at the Combined Districts Kart Club in NSW has attracted many Tasmanian girls over  years and in 2016 Kiana Toon from the Launceston Kart Club and Stevie Smith from the Southern Tasmanian kart Club will once again fly the flag for Tassie.

Both girls competed in 2015 with Kiana chasing a “pink plate” in KA4 Junior Heavy whilst young Stevie will compete in Cadet 9.
