  • Driver/Team News - Patrizicorse has confirmed Nick Andrews will lead the BirelART/Patrizicorse team in the Australian Rotax Pro Tour national series. He will compete in Rotax Light. "Nick is a serious competitor who has beaten the best on numerous occasions" Team Manager Jason Burns said. "With the full support of Birel ART Oceania, Patrizicorse and GKS, I am sure we can help Nick reach that number one spot that has been so close over the last few years."

  • Chaz Mostert is back behind the wheel - of a kart! The 2014 Bathurst winner is using a CRG KZ kart to help get back in shape for a return to V8 Supercars. “The first few days were only a couple of laps – you’re pretty buggered as it’s pretty physical, karting" he told the V8supercars website.   • Due to a severe local storm last Thursday, IKD suffered a power outage that lead to a dispatch delay for parcels that day. "We apologise for any inconvenience and unfortunately a lot of orders will not be able to leave today as we cannot get onto any freight systems!" the company posted on social media.

  • The International Kart Federation (IKF) has partnered with SKUSA to use SKUSA's Evinco tyres as the official spec tyre for the IKF Sprint program. The deal is for two years and will utilise Evinco Red and Blue tyres. “I’m excited to work with the IKF with a focus on stabilizing karting in the US" SKUSA President Tom Kutscher said. (The IKF has been a governing body for karting since 1957. Headquartered in California, IKF currently publishes rules for speedway, sprint, and road racing kart platforms. There are 13 IKF regions that span across the United States and Canada.)

  • Entries for the opening round of the 2016 Australian Kart Championship will close this Friday, January 22. The event will be hosted by the Dubbo Kart Club on February 5-7. Karters who want to be in the chase for a KA National Championship need to enter via Karting Australia’s Competitor Management System (CMS) by selecting Australia as the State and Karting Australia as the Club.   • We received an addendum on the weekend regarding this weekend's Ladies Cup event at Lithgow. The addendum added another three classes to the race meeting - Junior Performance, TaG 125 Restricted Heavy and KA3 Senior Heavy. CMS entries close tonight (Jan 18) but drivers can still enter up to 2:30pm on the 22nd.

  • Thanks to the high financial contributions obtained by the CIK-FIA for the various tenders concerning the 2016 season, significant rewards will be received by drivers classified among the first 15 in the Championship ranking of all four CIK-FIA European Championships - on the provision those drivers also participate in the CIK-FIA World Championships or the CIK-FIA International Super Cup for KZ2. There will be cash bonuses of €1000 (AUS $1575) each in OK and OK-Junior, and €750 (AUS $1180) each in KZ and KZ2.

  • The Vintage Kart Club of Tasmania will be running the 2016 "Tassie Tour" in April - five events at four tracks across a period of nine days! Competitors can enter just one event, all 5 or any number in between. They all include Demonstrations and Lap Dashes. A Kart Concours (ie. Show ‘n Shine) will run at NWKC on Saturday 9 April.   • Sydney based St George Karts were at the Offenbach Kart Show in Germany on the weekend, displaying PRD, Italsport & KSI products, along with their partners at the booth, Sniper.

  • New product from Righetti Ridolfi - red 'active' noise/intake boxes. They are manufactured in red plastic with either chrome (as illustrated below) or black nostrils. Available in 23mm (CIK/FIA homologation 28/SA/24) and 30mm (CIK/FIA homologation 27/SA/24).


  • Seven drivers have been named as Kosmic's official factory team driver line-up for 2016. The Kosmic Kart Racing Department will use Mercury MY15 and Lynx MY15 chassis powered by Vortex engines.

  • Anyone wishing to be an official (stewards grade 1 & 2, 3 & 4, clerk of course, technical / scrutineer) at a Karting Australia / Karting Victoria sanctioned race meeting this year needs to register via an online form and attend the appropriate training day (training is valid for 2 years).   • Rotax Pro Tour driver registration list has been updated. Click HERE to see who's running what number in each class in 2016. Round 1 commences in Melbourne on Friday.

  • Australian Kart Championship registration list has also been updated, as at midday Jan 13. Click HERE to check it out.

  • Liam McLellan has confirmed he will again contest the Australian Kart championship with the Holden Kart Team aboard JC chassis. "Really looking forward to running the Number 1 and the new Vortex KF2 engine with the help of Paul Feeney with the trade in being offered" he posted on social media.

  • Kartsport NZ reports that five-time National champion Mat Kinsman and his partner Freya O'Hanlon are now owners of International Kart Supplies (IKS) in New Zealand. The organisation also represents the NZ Sodi Kart dealership, Unipro and Kartcare products. A fully qualified mechanicm Mat has developed his skill in kart engines through spending time with his grandfather, Brian Kinsman, who has been building winning kart engines since before Mat was born.
